Cinnabon Clone Recipe — Copycat Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F / 45°C)
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup margarine or butter, melted
  • 4½ cups bread flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2½ tsp bread machine yeast (or active dry yeast)

Filling

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2½ tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened

Icing

  • 1½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 (3 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Directions

Step 1
Place milk, eggs, melted margarine, flour, salt, sugar, and yeast in bread machine pan in order recommended by manufacturer; run dough cycle. (If mixing by hand, combine, knead until smooth, and proof per Step 2.)

Step 2
When dough doubles, turn onto lightly floured surface; cover and rest 10 minutes.

Step 3
Roll dough to a 16×21-inch rectangle.

Step 4
Spread softened butter over dough evenly; sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.

Step 5
Roll from long end into a log and cut into 12 equal rolls. Place rolls in a greased 9×13-inch pan, cover, and let rise until nearly doubled (~30 minutes).

Step 6
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake 15 minutes until golden.

While baking, prepare icing: beat powdered sugar, butter, cream cheese, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
