Hawaiian Roll Cinnamon Rolls — Quick & Ooey Gooey Recipe

Hawaiian Roll Cinnamon Rolls make an ultra-easy, irresistibly soft version of classic cinnamon rolls using store-bought Hawaiian slider rolls. These ooey-gooey cinnamon rolls take minutes to prep and bake to golden, buttery perfection — ideal when you want fast, crowd-pleasing sweets.

Prep Time: 10 mins • Cook Time: 20 mins • Stand Time: 5 mins • Total Time: 35 mins • Servings: 12

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 9 tbsp softened butter, divided
  • 1/4 tsp salt, divided
  • 1 (12-count) package Hawaiian rolls
  • 3 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar

Directions

  1. Prep baking pan & split rolls: Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 pan. Slice Hawaiian rolls horizontally leaving tops/bottoms attached.
  2. Make cinnamon butter: Stir together brown sugar, cinnamon, 8 tbsp softened butter and 1/8 tsp salt until combined. Spread 3/4 of mixture on bottom halves; place tops on. Spread remaining mixture over tops.
  3. Bake: Bake 20 minutes until centers are cooked and tops golden. Let sit 5 minutes.
  4. Make cream cheese icing: Beat remaining 1 tbsp butter with cream cheese, remaining salt, vanilla, and powdered sugar until smooth. Spread over warm rolls. Serve.

Cook’s Note

These are perfect for quick parties — swap cream cheese icing for a simple powdered sugar glaze if you want a lighter finish. For extra gooeyness add a drizzle of honey or warmed caramel.
